Without exception, our lives have been fundamentally altered this year as the world has faced the plague of Covid-19. The living out of our faith has been no different. The rhythms of our regular parish life have been interrupted – and in some cases halted altogether. The ministries we enjoy leading, sharing, and offering have had to adapt for the sake of the good health and wellbeing of our neighbors and our community. While the way we do things has had to change, our desire to do them has not. To that end, the parish of St James the Greater would like to extend an invitation to all those who minister and volunteer to a special Mass at 7 pm on Monday, November 16. This will be an opportunity to gather as a community of faith to praise and worship God for the gifts of service he has given us as well as to be refreshed and encouraged in our desire to seek them out and do them. Minsters and volunteers of all kinds – altar servers, choir members, Eucharistic ministers, lectors, catechists, St Zita’s and office volunteers, sacristans, funeral lunch hosts, ushers, marriage prep volunteers, parish groups and members, etc. – are invited and encouraged to attend.
